In my opnion intellectual property must be protected.
Assume that you were a musician and you strived to create new music over 2 years then you made it. One day, you walk on the street and listen to counterfeit your work. How would you feel? Here is another example, you were a president of big company. you give all your efforts to your company to succeed. Now your company has renown for your products like GE or SONY. What if someone use your company's name for their products with low qualties. Do you still stick your seat without no action to protect your products.
I think piracy is another name of stealing.

I dont have a huge opinion about piracy.. i do a lot, with music, movies and also book haha you know.
don't you think that piracy exist because the cost of things?
i mean in Chile we have LOTS of music piracy and music companies complain about that but also just one cd is 30 dollars .. uhmm its kind of expensive ..

Should we feel sorry for millionaire musicians not selling more CD's at $16.99 or should we fell sorry for poor people who can't afford to buy any music?
Besides people have been copying their friends cassette tapes for decades.

We don't need to feel sorry for millionare musicians but every musican can't be millionaire. Just think about the ordinary people not millionaire. If we let piracy be approved, who wants to careate something. I know some people abuse this law and I'm not saying we only protect intellectual property unconditionally but no matter what it should be protected in a proper way. It encourage the people related to this to try their work continuousely. In addition piracy can be become to cracker.
